Grilled shrimp – incredibly tasty and quick to make, and will please even the pickiest of eaters. This dish is a great choice when you want something quick, filling and easy. 5 minutes and lunch is ready (not counting the time for cooking rice and cutting salad). We grilled the shrimp on an electric grill, but you can also grill them on a barbecue. If you don’t have a grill, a frying pan or oven will do – the main thing is that the shrimp are grilled briefly, but well cooked. We suggest serving the prepared shrimp with a fresh vegetable salad and Basmati rice, cooked with a little turmeric, which not only gives the rice a great color, but also has a lot of antioxidants. This dish is suitable for both everyday lunch and a festive table.

Grilled Shrimp With Garlic and Parsley – A Light and Quick Dish for Everyday or Special Occasions

Ingredients:

  • 700 g shrimp (weight with shells, used already cooked)
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. garlic granules, fresh is also suitable
  • 1 tbsp. dried parsley
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

For the garnish:

  • 80 g Basmati rice (or other favorite rice is also suitable)
  • 0.25 tbsp. turmeric
  • salt, to taste

For the salad:

  • 200 g cucumbers
  • 200 g tomatoes
  • 150 g Iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. grain mustard
  • salt, freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions:

  • Rinse the rice well until the water runs clear, pour in new water, add salt and bring to a boil. At the end of cooking, stir in the turmeric.
  • While the rice is boiling, peel the shrimp, rinse and drain.
  • Mix in a bowl with all the spices, oil and leave for at least 10 minutes to marinate.
  • Thread the prepared shrimp onto wooden skewers (about 8 pcs. on each) and grill for a few minutes on an electric grill. Shrimp prepared in this way can be grilled not only on the grill, but also in a pan, oven or over a fire.
  • For the salad, cut the vegetables, season with oil, balsamic vinegar, mustard, spices and mix.
  • Serve the cooked shrimp with fresh salad and boiled rice.
