Although the dish looks festive and expressive, in fact, it only takes a few simple steps and a few unexpected ingredients to prepare – for example, capers or a fresh orange. If you like food that is not only delicious, but also looks beautiful on a plate – this recipe will suit you very much.

Chicken Steaks with Oranges and Caper Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 3 pcs. chicken breasts
  • 1 pc. orange
  • 1 pc. onion
  • 2 tbsp. cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp. capers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 tbsp. flour
  • 0.5 cube chicken stock
  • fresh parsley, to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • oil for frying

For the salad:

  • 200 g cucumbers
  • 200 g tomatoes
  • 150 g Iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. grainy mustard
  • salt, freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Pour a cup of hot water into the stock cube and dissolve.
  2. Cut the chicken in half, season each steak with spices and fry in a pan on both sides.
  3. When the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add a drizzle of oil to the same pan, add the chopped onion and garlic, fry lightly.
  5. Then pour in the stock, add the flour, add the cream cheese, mix everything well.
  6. Add the capers, chopped parsley, orange slices, sauté until slightly thickened.
  7. Finally, add the prepared chicken and sauté for about 15 minutes.
  8. For the salad, cut the vegetables, season with oil, balsamic vinegar, mustard and spices and mix.
  9. Serve the chicken steaks with the sauce, an orange slice and salad.
